A Warm Welcome to Avington Park Golf Course

History

Avington Park Golf Course is a 9 Hole Parkland Course which was established in 1995. Much of the park was planted in the late 18th Century and the mature trees now define the course. The greens were built to USGA specification to ensure good playing conditions all year round and have helped establish the reputation of being one of the best 9 Hole courses in Hampshire.

There is the opportunity to play 18 holes with different tees on all 9 holes.

The Golf Club is a proprietary club and is run by the partnership of: M&V Stent.

How to Book a Tee Time

You can book a tee time by logging into the members area of the website and selecting ‘Book a tee time’ on the Home page or under ‘My Golf’.

Click ‘select’ next to the time (on the correct day) you would like to play and enter the number of players and length of booking (9 or 18 hole).
Ensure you click ‘book tee time’ before going back to the tee booking page.

Tee times can also be booked via telephone on the clubhouse number, 01962 779945.

Handicap

To gain a handicap you must play 54 holes (cards signed by the marker) – this can be 9 or 18 holes or a combination of the two. To keep a competition handicap you must enter three qualifying competitions per year.

Please submit your cards to clubhouse staff who will ensure they are passed onto the responsible person.

Etiquette

The following points are just some of the protocols that we ask all golfers to respect and adhere to at all times:

  • Respect others on the course.

  • Look after the course – rake bunkers, repair divots and pitch marks.

  • Avoid slow play.

  • Allow Greenkeepers priority while working on the course.

  • Allow groups following to play through if they are having to wait, particularly if you have lost a hole ahead.

Practice Areas

There are practice nets and a practice putting green situated close to the clubhouse area, with a practice chipping and bunker facility located just down the slope from the 1st tee on the left hand side.  Please do not chip onto the practice green.

Parking

There may be occasions, especially on competition days, when the car park may be a little fuller than usual, we just ask that people please park considerately at all times.

Please ensure that no valuables are left in your car at any time as the club cannot take responsibility for any loss or damage to property.

Dress Code

Here at Avington, we have a relaxed dress code although we ask all players not to remove their shirts in hot conditions and suggest proper golf shoes.

Club colours for the Ladies when representing the club in matches etc. are a pink polo shirt (bearing the course logo) and navy trousers and Seniors are blue club polo shirts with navy trousers.

Club House Facilities

The Clubhouse is open every day (except 25th Dec).
